I help governments and developers create thriving, walkable communities. I wrote my PhD on how to attract mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly development to car-dependent arteries dominated by parking lots and traffic. I have since implemented these insights in suburban areas of Las Vegas and Overland Park, Kansas. I write on a broad range of topics and give regular keynote talks, including at the 2025 Californian League of Cities and the 2024 American Planning Association Quad State Conference.

Selected Projects

Charleston Area Plan, Las Vegas

I was the lead author for a master plan for a suburban area of Las Vegas with a population of 75,000 people, and drafted policy on street design, growth, and incentives for redevelopment.

Park City Main Street Area Plan

I was the lead author for this plan to help Park City prepare for the 2034 Winter Olympics, including transportation, parking, park design, and more. I facilitated difficult but productive stakeholder conversations about the future of the street.

Wolfville Growth & Transportation Planning

I helped Wolfville plan for population growth and establish principles for street design. I drafted amendments to the Town's planning policies and led consultation with the Planning Advisory Committee and Council.
